BEAVERS IN WINTER
(Kenora - Feb, 2008)
|
While the furry Beavers may sleep through the winter, the human kind are playing in the snow. The 2nd Kenora Beaver Colony and their Dads spend Feb 2nd and 3rd on Scout Island. They pulled each other in dog sleds on the ice, cooked over a fire, slid down snowy banks to the lake, went snowshoeing on the trails and ice fished.

While ice fishing, they landed one pike and one perch. Not enough for supper but no one seemed to care. The weather was perfect, the day full of fun. All were snuggled into their sleeping bags and sound asleep early into the night, dreaming of next day adventures.
