Sudbury Area covers the communities in and around Sudbury, Ontario. Sudbury Area extends north on hwy 144 to Cartier, south on hwy 69 to the French River, west on hwy 17 to (but not including) Blind River, and east on hwy 17 to Verner.

2007 Sudbury Wolves Game
(Sudbury - Feb, 2007)   Over 300 scouting members and their families enjoyed a shoot-out win by the Sudbury Wolves over the Mississauga Ice Dogs at the 13th annual Scout/Guide Week event.

   Howler, an honorary Wolf Cub, received his Blue star having completed the requirements over the past couple of years. The Sudbury Wolves mascot was also presented with a 100th Anniversary crest.

Sudbury Scouter in Top 40 Under Forty
(Sudbury - Nov, 2006)   John Valtonen, a Beaver leader with the 23rd Sudbury group, has been recognized as one of the forty most influential people under 40 years of age in the City of Greater Sudbury. John contributes his experience as a Cub in the 14th Sudbury pack as helping to determine his role later in life serving people as a police officer and as a peace keeper in Bosnia. As well as being a Beaver leader, John is one of the youngest commanding officers of a militia unit in Canada. John is recognized for his contributions to others in a article in Northern Life, a community newspaper. (40 Under Forty article)

23rd Sudbury Appreciation Dinner
(Sudbury - Feb, 2007)   Members of 23rd Sudbury and their families gathered for the the group's annual appreciation dinner during Scout/Guide week. Ninety-four guests shared an enjoyable supper which was capped off with a bevy of presentations, including a Warrant of Appointment for Scouter Burgess Hawkins. Training accreditation Part I was presented to Scout Leaders Andrew McDonald and Hugh Hinschberger and to Cub Leader Holly Browne. Wood Badge Part II Troop Leader accreditation was presented to Scouter Wendy Kirby.
23rd Sudbury Appreciation Dinner
   Service awards were given to Burgess Hawkins and Andrew McDonald 5 yrs; Cathy Clement and Wendy Kirby 10 yrs; Larry Rivers 20 yrs. Centennial Medals were presented to Scouters Shirley Rivers, Dave Reilly, Dave Duffy and Larry Rivers who were recognized by Northern Ontario Council during this anniversary year. Area Commissioner Tom McGibbon made the presentations.

Sudbury Area Kub Kar Rally
(Sudbury - Feb, 2007)   Cubs from around the Sudbury Area attended a fun packed Kub Kar Rally at Marymount Academy on February 4th. While the fastest KubKars were up for first, second and third place, the Cubs could also win prizes for the best paint jobs. Prizes donated from businesses in the community such as Just Lubes and Auto Parts, included a remote control Hummer car, a pack sack, and gift certificates. Also at stake were badges for carpentry and handiwork.

   The 15th Sudbury Cub group hosted the rally this year. It invited all area cubs to the event so that the kids could socialize and mark the 100th anniversary of Scouts, said Nancy Horan, a leader with the 15th Sudbury Cubs.
   Mark Millar, a Cub leader at 15th Sudbury, remembers carving his own Kub Kar as a child. "It's even the same box," he said, about the packaging. This year, he helped his son Ben, 9, carve a car. Ben then painted it gold and glued on pennies to give it extra weight.
